Nicolas Cage Comments On Potential Ghost Rider Return

Nicolas Cage is back in full force thanks to his newest film, The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, and he’s commented on a potential return as Ghost Rider.

Cage had the following to say when he was interviewed during the press junket for The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent:

“Ghost Rider is an amazing character. I mean, he’s a complicated character. It’s kind of like, how do you tell the story of Faust within the context of that universe? Because it’s a very philosophical character. I think it makes him special from other superheroes.”

Could Nicolas Cage return as the Ghost Rider?

Cage starred in two Ghost Rider movies in the early 2000’s, pre-MCU, so you can see where he’s coming from. The two Ghost Rider movies weren’t exactly well received, but regardless of that he’s by far the best part of them. With the growing advent of superhero movies, Cage could really do something special and great with the character.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent features Cage playing himself in a more satirical form, with Pedro Pascal co-starring. The movie is an exciting prospect for a more modern Cage, a Cage that had a very recent comeback. He’s already been in recent superhero movies, playing Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. With the talk heating up surrounding Ghost Rider now that we’re getting a Moon Knight and a Blade, there’s really no better time for it.
