A New Legend Of Zelda Game May Have Started Production

The Legend Of Zelda isn’t just one of the most beloved Nintendo franchises – it’s also one of the most beloved series in the history of gaming, and it now boasts over 30 titles over a span of over 30 years.

The most recent addition to the world of Link and friends was, of course, the Nintendo Switch’s launch title – The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.

BOTW reached amazing success with solid 10/10 reviews and boasting a score of 97% on Metacritic. With nearly 12 million copies sold since its launch in March 2017, BOTW is definitely one of the biggest titles on the console, so it’s not surprising to hear that Nintendo isn’t waiting too long to produce the next title…

According to a post on ResetEra from user guru-guru [via IGN], it’s emerged that Nintendo is hiring a couple of people to begin work on a new Legend of Zelda game.

The job listings, which you can read in full here, call for a 3DCG designer and a level designer for an upcoming LoZ title, and the news has gotten fans pretty hyped.

Of course, creating a game as great as those in the Zelda series takes time, so we’re not expecting any more news for a good few years.

Breath of the Wild reportedly took over four years to complete, and that was with 300 staff members working diligently to recreate Hyrule like never before.

That being said, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask took little over a year to develop, but of course it used a lot of assets from its predecessor, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Although we’re likely to have a few years to wait until a new Zelda title is officially announced, the job listings are definitely an exciting development for fans of Link, Zelda and Epona.
