Virtual Reality technology is being a mainstream topic with the help of Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus but what does Naughty Dog, creators of The Last of Us and Uncharted, think about VR?
Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann was interviewed by MCV where one of the topics was about Project Morpheus and VR gaming. Neil Druckmann believes that there are amazing opportunities with VR and that Naughty Dog has been brainstorming several ideas of what the development team could do in terms of Project Moprheus.
However, Neil Druckmann feels like there hasn’t been that moment yet for VR that would make gamers storm the stores for a VR headset. Neil does believe that there will be that moment, someone will be ale to create such a game that would rocket VR into a more mainstream profitable gaming peripheral.
We’ve had some brainstorms over here as far as what we could do, and there’s right away unique things of how you can use perspective to get new kinds of experience that you can’t get any other way. At the same time, there’s still a lot of prove. There hasn’t yet been that one experience that says ‘Oh yeah, I have to get VR for this.’ Someone’s going to make it, someone’s going to make that game that’s like ‘Oh crap, I have to get VR for this game,’ but I have yet to see that.
