Microsoft Looking To Overcome Sony In Japan

Microsoft may have the opportunity to take control of the market within Japan. Set to launch in September of this year, Microsoft will be releasing their Xbox One into a region where Sony already is available for sale.

We reported that Sony was having a difficult time selling the PlayStation 4 in Japan. Reasons behind the less than desirable launch was partially due to the fact that Sony didn’t have very much content Japanese consumers were too interested in. This could give Microsoft some insight as to how they launch the Xbox One console.

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, recently took to Twitter on the subject matter. One fan asked Phil Spencer that since Sony isn’t selling as well as they had wished within Japan, will Microsoft see this as an opportunity to take over the market?

Microsoft will officially launch the Xbox One on September 4, 2014 while the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) will start on September 18 – 21.
