Infinite Warfare Changes Game’s Boxart, Replaces Space Setting Theme

The official Call of Duty website just updated and it’s replaced the official Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare boxart featuring a fighter jet pilot holding his helmet with a new one. The new boxart features a solider on it holding a gun and looking more ‘boots on the ground’ types.

The new boxart has no traces of  the previous promoted space setting and even the background doesn’t feature any spaceships prominently (like before). This might be a deliberate move on Activision’s end to minimize the negative perception from gamers about the game focusing on its space setting.

Activision might have now decided, due to the exceptionally poorly received reveal trailer for the game, that a more traditional marketing campaign, without a focus on the game’s presumed space setting, might be a good move.

Activision confirmed it’ll be showing off Infinite Warfare’s gameplay during the upcoming E3 event which kicks on this Saturday, June 11. We’ll be sure to share all the details with you.
