Though having updates launch at annoying points in time – like when you are currently using your device – can happen, you should then manually update your Android device when you are ready to. This article is going to go over how to update Android devices.

  • Step 1: Connect your device to Wi-Fi.
  • Step 2: Navigate to the Settings App and open it.
  • Step 3: Find About Phone and select it.
  • Step 4: Select the Check for Updates button. If there is an update available, an Update button will appear next. Select this.
  • Step 5: Depending on the device you have, a button saying either Install Now, Reboot and Install or Install System Software will appear. You will need to select this and then allow your phone to reboot.

Once your device has turned back on, it should be updated to the most recent version of Android. Hopefully, then your device will be working as expected, secure, and up to date for quite some time.
