Even with Red Dead Redemption 2 on the near horizon, Rockstar is still putting in work to keep GTA Online fresh.
The next update will be available in June, and is going to be huge. This update will focus on the art of gunrunning, particularly in San Andreas. Rockstar first mentioned this update back in March, and it’s almost here.
“Southern San Andreas’ illegal weapons trafficking industry rises to the surface in Gunrunning, a massive new update coming this June to GTA Online.” reveals a Rockstar press release.
All of the features and additions have yet to be revealed, but we do know a few things, along with the new career path. In particular, there’s a new type of property for you to acquire… and it’s an underground bunker.
Here’s a description of the upcoming bunkers for GTA Online:
“Dotted throughout Blaine County are hatches – look into these mysterious properties on the Maze Bank Foreclosure site and you’ll find sprawling underground headquarters for sale, ready to be stocked with new military grade vehicles and weapons manufacturing equipment capable of developing highly sought after offensive and defensive technologies. As the residents of Los Santos know, the only thing more fun than crime is profit and should you choose to invest in this new business, some extremely shady customers are ready to pay top dollar for what you can deliver.”
There are also some new vehicles on the way, including an all-terrain APC and a new Tampa.
Even though GTA is competing for attention against games like Battlegrounds and Overwatch, GTA Online still manages to be really popular, and it’s great to see them continuing to put out big updates for the game after all this time. Rockstar games have a way of aging very well.
