Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil franchise have been added to Fortnite as playable characters.
These characters arrive as part of the Gaming Legends series, and offer Fortnite players the chance to fight as their favourite Resident Evil protagonists.
Epic Games announced their arrival in the game in a new post on their website, which says “After surviving countless horrors in the Spencer Mansion and beyond, S.T.A.R.S. veterans Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine find themselves on the Island to face The Sideways’ Cube Monsters. Fend off Cube Monsters (and your opponents) like your life depends on it with the S.T.A.R.S. Team Set”.
Resident Evil Royale
Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine also have alternate looks. Redfield’s outfit comes with the the Hound Wolf Squad Style, which is “based on his clash in a snowy village”. Valentine’s alternate outfit is called Raccoon City Style, and sure enough, it’s based on “her desperate escape from a relentless pursuer”.
There are a bunch of other items available too, including the Green Herb Back Bling. This comes with alternate colours (red and blue). Two new pickaxes are available – the HOT DOGGER Pickaxe and the Stun Rod Pickaxe, as well an umbrella-based emote.
Resident Evil fans should recognise these cosmetics from the games, and it’s cool to see a crossover like this during the spooky season.
