Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 May Possibly Have a Winter Release Date

Teaser trailers are double-edged swords. They’re exciting because it’s usually the first look into a new game or movie coming out, but unfortunately they usually don’t divulge many details. That’s the other edge of that sword: a lot of unanswered questions and unknown details.

A teaser trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was recently dropped, and Bandai Namco failed to give us a release date for the game. They did, though, announce that the game would be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The trailer has been receiving very positive feedback and it’s had nearly 1.5 million views so far, but now people are starting to wonder if they will actually get to play the game any time soon.

Bandai Namco has now hinted that Japan will have a Winter 2016 release, but there is no official date yet, as well as no mention of a US or European release. However, if we take a look back to 2015’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Japan had their release first, followed by the United States and the U.K. a few weeks after.

That’s good news for Japanese gamers, or is it? Even though they will be able to get their hands on the game before anyone else, it looks like those without a PlayStation 4 will be out of luck. Unfortunately, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will not be available on the Xbox One or PC in Japan.

Bandai Namco has not released an official statement regarding this PlayStation 4 exclusive for Japan. The first game in the series did not sell well on Xbox 360 or Xbox One last year, so there might be a possibility of sales figures playing a role in this decision.

If you haven’t done so yet, take a look at the teaser trailer below.
