We’re shaping up for an in-game reveal of the next Call of Duty game in Warzone, as the official Call of Duty social media tells us all will be revealed on Thursday and drops a big hint inside the game itself.
Warzone recently launched into its delayed fifth season of Cold War content. The latest update saw some subtle map changes arrive in Verdansk ’84, as well as a new mode titled “Clash”. However, among the planned additions, Warzone players got an unexpected visit from a deadly visitor.
During Warzone’s final cutscene, something different happens as the winning team exfils. The last to rappel into the helicopter is shot. It is then revealed that a WW2 soldier is the one that took the shot.
A Hint Of What’s To Come
This isn’t all, as yesterday the official Call of Duty social media accounts teased the reveal of the next game in the series would occur inside Warzone on Thursday. Although rumours and leaks have admittedly led this to become an open secret, at least we now have official confirmation that this game will be called Call of Duty Vanguard.
So it sounds like Call of Duty Vanguard will receive a similar reveal in Warzone the same way Black Ops Cold War did last year. As we know by now, Warzone is no stranger to meta in-game events with players experiencing its makeover to Verdansk ’84 via the arrival of a nuke.
The arrival of these teasers comes after Call of Duty Vanguard suffered a series of leaks. Call of Duty even jabbed at the matter, by giving us our first jokey look at the upcoming shooter.
