Book Of Boba Fett Hints At Connection To Jedi: Fallen Order

The Book of Boba Fett made a subtle reference to the Witches of Dathomir, hinting at a some Star Wars lore explored in Jedi: Fallen Order.

The Witches were briefly mentioned in episode 3 of The Book of Boba Fett, “The Streets of Mos Espa”. It’s possible that this mention could be hinting at further exploration of this part of the lore in the canon.

The Witches of Dathomir were essentially retconned by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, relegating them to Star Wars Legends.

In the latest episode, a rancor keeper (played by Danny Trejo) told Boba Fett that the Witches of Dathomir were said to have trained rancors to ride them through the forests of their home world.

This story also pays homage to the classic Star Wars novels. But the important detail for lore fans is that the Witches were mentioned, rather than the more famous Nightsisters. This suggests a section of the old lore has been restored after the retcon.

Who Are The Witches Of Dathomir?

The Witches of Dathomir were established by a rogue Jedi Knight called Allya. Their society is matriarchal in nature, with Force-wielding women and a ritual-style spell system. Some witches gave into the dark side of the Force and were cast out into the wilds.

We’ll have to wait and see whether this lore is expanded on in the future.
