If you happen to own an Amazon Alexa, then you may have noticed that they’re not working properly today. In fact, there are reports from across the world that the devices have stopped responding completely.
It been down for several hours, but users say that the device either won’t switch off or is switching itself off.
Outage tracker Down Detector– the website that tracks outages – received hundreds of complaints about Alexa not working at around 8am this morning UK time.

The issue seems to be mostly in the UK and Europe, however there are some reports in the US.
Tony Hill commented on Down Detector: “Won’t turn up the heating and is thinking long and hard about whether to turn lights on or off.
“Alexa seems to be down. She won’t even tell me the time,” one American Twitter user wrote to Amazon.
“Has your service gone down? Currently none of my Echo’s are working”, added another.
An Amazon spokesperson told Daily Mail: “For a short period this morning we had an issue that impacted some Alexa customers’ ability to interact with the service. The Alexa service is now operating normally.”
