Target Will Honor PlayStation 4 Pre-Orders

Last week we reported that retailer Target was canceling the pre-orders of PlayStation 4 bundles that included Watch Dogs and DriveClub as those games had been delayed until next year. Now Target has announced that it will honor the PlayStation 4 part of those pre-orders.

As way of an apology for canceling the orders outright last week, they will also thrown in a $100 gift card along with the PlayStation 4. In a statement made to Kotaku:

“The release date for the video games Watch Dogs, Drive Club, The Order: 1886, and InFamous: Second Son have been delayed, and as a result, Target cancelled pre-orders for Sony PlayStation 4 consoles that were going to be bundled with these title. We sincerely apologize to guests who were inconvenienced and are working directly with them to ensure they receive the console they selected by their original order date. There was no impact to Sony PlayStation 4 pre-orders that were sold independently or bundled with other game titles.”

Kotaku checked with the customers that initially informed them of the matter and they confirmed that Target had talked to them individually regarding what would be done.
