Square Enix talks Success and Tomb Raider Exceeding Sales

Darrell Gallagher, the head of product development and studios for Square Enix has recently announced that Tomb Raider has exceeded over four million copies sold worldwide.

This is very good news for the company, considering that the game was released only a couple months ago, back in March.

In a Gamasutra blog post, Gallager writes:

“We now sit in a great position where the decisions we made and the willingness to embrace a new direction resulted in the fastest selling game in the history of the franchise and the most critically acclaimed title ever produced from the studio.”

Speaking of success, Gallager also mentions the high achievements of their previous titles Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause 2. Especially Sleeping Dogs which has proved to be financially beneficial to Square Enix. Both titles have dedicated amount of fans, with half a million players on every month.
