Showrunner For The Witcher Warns That The Series Is ‘Really Not’ For Children

Netflix’s eight-part series, The Witcher, is coming to the streaming service in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future, and we’re starting to hear more and more about what we can expect.

Showrunner Lauren Hissrich recently took to Twitter to share her take on how the show’s shaping up, and it looks like it’s going to be a full-on NSFW series.

She tweeted: “Just watched a cut of with Ben, and the verdict is in: this show is not for 5-year-olds. Like, really not.

Take your bets now – are we talking fighting, gore or *THAT* unicorn scene…

People are seriously excited for the Netflix adaptation, although there’s still some hesitancy about whether or not the streaming giants will be able to do Geralt and the gang justice.

Not too much is known about the show so far, but we do know it’s expected either this year or next, and it stars a very interesting cast.

Freya Allan, known for The War of the Worlds and Bluebird has officially been cast in the role of Ciri, while Anya Chalotra, of Wanderlust and The ABC Murders fame will be taking the role of Yennefer [via Hollywood Reporter].

British actor Shaun Dooley has also just revealed he’s joined the cast, but he’s not disclosed what his role will be.

They’ll be joining Henry Cavill as series protagonist, Geralt of Rivia.

Will the show be on your must-watch list?
