There’s finally some good news regarding the new season of Rick and Morty. The animation has officially started, and using some maths and historical patterns, we can actually make an educated guess regarding the release date.
Rick and Morty’s animation supervisor Eric Bofa Nfon tweeted last Friday about a “Casual meeting,” saying in the tweet that it was his “First week back!”
He also included the hashtag “#RaM4,” clearly referencing Rick and Morty Season 4.

Eric Bofa Nfon works for Bardel Entertainment in Vancouver, and yes that is the animation studio responsible for animating the show.
Looking at Season 3’s production schedule, we can guess that the premiere won’t be for at least seven months. This will potentially be around mid-August this year.
Season 4 of Rick and Morty is coming. We know that it’s soon, we just don’t know exactly when. However we do know that in the UK it’ll be available on Channel 4.
Check out the brand-new trailer…
Regarding the news, Channel 4 director of programmes, Ian Katz said: “Rick and Morty is one of the most anarchic, ingenious and original shows around and the breakthrough animated hit of recent years,
“I’m thrilled that it’s coming to Channel 4 and E4.”
If you’re an Adult Swim fan in general, you’ll be thrilled to know that as part of the deal Robot Chicken, The Eric Andre Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and more are all arriving on the broadcaster as part of the deal too.
It seems like an age since we last had Rick and Morty grace our screens stuttering and burping their way across the multiverse. Adult Swim has already confirmed that a supersized crop of 70 new episodes is coming at some point, but we’ve been left salivating at the Plumbus for any news about when that’ll be. Those 70 episodes could come all at one time or probably in the form of 5-7 seasons.
After the surprise drop of Season 3 and the memorable Sezchuan sauce episode from last April Fool’s day, Rick and Morty fans have been hoping for a similar situation in 2019.

Although there’s still no official release date for Season 4, the latest video HAS to be a tease of something soon. Admittedly, we’re going to hold our hands up and say we were wrong about that Rick and Morty Christmas special, but we’ve got a good feeling about this one.
Instead of being overjoyed, some fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at the lack of a Season 4 announcement. Considering we had to wait 18 months between Season 2 and 3, it’s easy to see why everyone’s a little peeved.

Personally, I’d love to see a Godzilla-inspired episode where the dynamic duo are transformed into the ferocious lizard and Mothra. That’d be one way to top turning into a pickle.

No one knows what’s coming in Season 4, but expect to see more of Evil Morty, the usual appearance of Mr. Poopybutthole, and possible confirmation that Season 3’s Beth Smith is actually a clone of the original.
Whatever happens, expect more foul-mouthed mayhem from everyone’s favourite scientific grandpa and his unwilling assistant.
