Sony PlayStation India has confirmed the PS4 India launch details. It’ll will be releasing on January 6th and will be priced at 39,990. The news was revealed during an event it held at Eros Hotel, New Delhi today.
The company confirmed that no bundles will be sold in the country at launch and only the base model will be available.
The event also confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will be available for pre-order in all leading retailers starting today. The initial stock is in limited quantities so you better hurry up.
It is an exciting time for all of us at PlayStation and after the successful launch across United States and European markets, we are putting in all our energy behind a successful introduction of the PlayStation 4 to the Indian consumers. It is quite overwhelming to see the unprecedented demand for PS4 across the world and amongst the Indian gamers, said Atindriya Bose, Country Head – PlayStation India.
Mr.Bose said that he expects 90% of the intiial stock allotted to India to be sold within the first week of launch. Impressive estimations, we must say.
The company also revealed that first-party PlayStation 4 titles will cost 3,999 INR for the time being. Software pre-orders will also be open in all major retailers starting later today.
Standalone versions of both the DualShock 4 controller and PS Eye camera will be available at launch and will cost a whopping 4,999 INR each.

- Injustice Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition – Rs. 2,499
- Need for Speed: Rivals – Rs. 4,499

- FIFA 14 – Rs. 4,499
- Knack – Rs. 3,999
- Killzone: Shadow Fall – Rs. 3,999
- Just Dance 2014 – Rs. 2,999
- NBA 2K14 – Rs. 2,999
- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag – Rs. 3,499
