The next installment in the Duke Nukem series is rumored to be announced this Friday. There hasn’t been a Nukem game released since 2011.
For starters, the Duke Nukem website currently sports a “Happy 20th Anniversary” banner on the front page. There is also a countdown timer on it, which ends this Friday. Gearbox, the game’s developers, has a panel at PAX West this Friday, right when the timer is set to end.

There have also been a series of tweets being exchanged between Duke Nukem himself and Randy Pitchford, the head of Gearbox. It looks like Nukem just set up his Twitter account on August 24. Take a look below at the friendly banter between the two.

According to the PAX West website, it looks like there will be some “surprises” in store for fans. Perhaps the official announcement of a new Duke Nukem will be made, since there are a lot of signs that point in that direction.
