After months of waiting, we could finally be getting the second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC very soon.
That’s according to a new image showing the next wave being advertised in Japan. A tweet shows the advertisement, which says the number of courses will be doubled. But the date is leading people to believe the second wave is coming soon.
In the image you can see that a date of July 17th 2022 is present. This could be hinting at a new advertisement taking its place on that date, and could mean a reveal for the next courses is imminent. Obviously we should take this with a grain of salt, but it’s definitely been long enough between waves at this point.
We haven’t had much news from Nintendo about the upcoming courses. Fans have been speculating for a while, with some leaks potentially revealing future courses like Waluigi Pinball or Maple Treeway. But nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
Mario Kart DLC Waves
Many expected Nintendo to announce the next wave in June around the time other gaming showcases were taking place. However, we only got a Direct about third party titles and no main Nintendo showcase.
There are six waves coming in total. We already got the first one in March, with Paris Promenade, Tokyo Blur, Ninja Hideaway, Shroom Ridge, Coconut Mall, Sky Garden, Toad Circuit and Choco Mountain.
A lot of people are excited to see what’s coming next. In fact, some are touting it as the replacement to the regular Smash Bros character reveals. Those reveals were a major reason why people tuned in to Nintendo presentations, as a new character was usually revealed.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for an official announcement, but hopefully we get confirmation of the next wave soon. I know I’m ready for it!
