Metal Gear Solid 5 Map Compared To GTA 5

The upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain video game is said to be significantly bigger than the previous in the Metal Gear Solid series. One person on Reddit compared the map to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5.

Through the post on Reddit, the map for Grand Theft Auto 5 is said to be 31.39 miles squared. However, there’s a significant portion of the map being just ocean so if we take away the parts that are only water, the new size for Grand Theft Auto 5 is only 18.84 miles squared.

Compare that to The Phantom Pain and you’re looking at only 6.18 square miles. This will make the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain only 32% of the size of Grand Theft Auto 5.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is set to release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
