If you’re a Minecraft player then this new will mark the end of an era for you, as the last-ever Minecraft update for last-generation consoles has officially released.
If you still like to pore over the expansive and ever-changing landscape of the game through your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita or Wii U, then you won’t be seeing anything new added in from now on.

Over on Twitter, 4J Studios has been lamenting the end of an era and asking Minecraft fans to do the same. Honestly, it’s pretty tear-jerking to see how many people adored this game on console, and its influences.
As we pack up our Xbox 360, PS3, PSVita and WiiU development kits, we’re getting all nostalgic 😢

Discovering my house in the tutorial world was a really special moment for me. To have my virtual house included in my favorite game was incredible.
The dedication to do it secretly and not ask me for pictures or dimensions made it extra cool.https://t.co/TEF0ND3xuh

The last update – which is available for the older consoles – has now launched, and to be fair, it’s going out with a bang.
What’s this? What’s this? A Nightmare Before Christmas Mash-Up pack, featuring 40 spooktacular skins and a world full of redstone puzzles to solve?
Yes. That’s exactly what it is. Great guess!
