Kratos is going to be more “likable” and “somewhat” relatable in God of War: Ascension in comparison to the previous God of War titles, game director Todd Papy has said.
In an interview with Game Informer, Papy told that while Kratos will still be “somewhat ruthless”, a side of him will be shown with which you can somewhat relate to.
“And that was something I wanted to get across,” said Papy, adding that Kratos was a bit of an “asshole” in God of War 3.
“The whole idea behind the story is more, ‘how do you undo selling your soul to the devil?’ In essence, that is the question that we are answering in this story,” Papy continued.
“Where does Kratos pick up roughly six months to a year after he killed his wife and kid? What’s his mental state? It’s not a very pleasant one.”
God of War: Ascension is out in 2013.
