Following 2016’s big screen adaptation of Suicide Squad, the popularity of Harley Quinn has been taken to new levels, turning her into an absolute icon and probably still one of the most popular Halloween costumes this year (again).

The film wasn’t exactly a hit, though Harley Quinn’s character was a highlight, and now she’s getting re-cast again – this time for an animated series.

Now The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco will be voicing the character in a brand-new series for DC Animation.

The news broke at New York’s Comic Con, with Warner Bros confirming that Cuoco would take on the role of the former psychiatrist -turned-psychotic villain.

Harley Quinn, will appear on the new DC Universe streaming service, which will launch next year.

A second animated show, Young Justice: Outsiders, was confirmed, alongside four live-action series that will all exclusively air on the new network.

Joining Cuoco in the cast is a series of well-known names including Wanda Sykes, Arrested Development’s Tony Hale, Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander, and Law and Order’s Chris Meloni.

Margot Robbie is set to revive her character in a series of sequels including Birds of Prey, Gotham City Sirens and an untitled film based on Harley’s twisted love affair with the Joker.

Kaley will also work on the animated series as an executive producer. It was recently announced that the long-running Big Bang Theory would finally come to an end next year, after 12 seasons.

Producers reportedly called time on the show after Jim Parsons told them his time as Sheldon Cooper had come to an end.
