Brooklyn Nine-Nine is Losing one of it’s Best Cast Members

Brooklyn 99 was recently brought ‘back from the dead’ by NBC after the show got cancelled some months ago.

Gina Linetti is a staple character in NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but it seems actress Chelsea Perretti won’t be playing the character for the majority of the show’s sixth season.

The comedian released an official statement on Twitter, stating: “B99 fans. Hiiiiiiiiiiii. Chelsea Peretti, here. I won’t be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in Season 6,” she tweeted. “But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back, winky face emoji, heart emoji. I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina. confident, idiotic-but-smart, pithy, and infused with rhythm and cell-phone radiation. ❤️💯It is hard for me to know exactly what to say.”

Many fans cried out at the actress, begging her to change her mind about leaving the show. One user wrote: “Wow. I’m super sad right now but mostly I just want to thank you for blessing our screens with Gina for so many years. She made so many of us laugh when we needed it most. I cant wait to see what lies ahead for her and you.”

While sad, as Chelsea said she’s definitely not leaving forever and could definitely be returning to the show in the future – however a B99 without Gina is definitely one that’s going to be different for a lot of fans.
