We are looking at a variety of different, simplistic things that you can use Photoshop for. Today, specifically, we are going to go over how to resize an image in Photoshop. You may need to resize an image for social media or to even upload it to specific sites.

  • Step 1: Open Photoshop and open your image.
  • Step 2: Locate and select Image on the toolbar at the top of the program.
  • Step 3: Select Image Size from the menu. A new window should pop up.
  • Step 4: If you are looking to keep the proportions of your image, so it does not look stretched or odd, you will need to check the box next to Constrain Proportions.
  • Step 5: In the Document Size section of the popup, you can change the word Inches to a variety of different measurements, if needed.
  • Step 6: You can input the size you want in the Width and Height boxes, then click OK. 

Resizing images is something I do need to do often, especially for social media. Using the option to Constrain Proportions really helps your picture from looking strange and edited. You should really consider ticking that box and seeing if it works out well for you. Hopefully, now, you know how to resize an image in Photoshop.
