If you are using Google Docs for school or some sort of official document, you may be asked to double space the document. Double spacing isn’t something people do naturally – and you probably do not want to change your entire typing style for papers that you are required to make. Let’s get into how to double space in Google Docs.
How To Double Space In Google Docs

- Step 1: Select all of the text you want to double space or open a blank document and follow the following steps.
- Step 2: Find the Line & Paragraph spacing on the toolbar. This icon has an arrow pointed up and down, next to three lines on top of each other.
- Step 3: Select this icon and the word Double. Your document should automatically update so that there is double spacing.
In this menu, you can actually change the spacing in many different ways, not just double spacing. If you want to play around with spacing and see what is best for you, this menu is the best place to play around with it.
Double spacing can be a requirement, so you might need to adhere to that specific type of spacing, but it’s good to know that you have other options. Hopefully, now you can double space in Google Docs whenever you need to.
