Evolve – Next Gen Multiplayer Shooter Announced For PS4

Game Informer revealed today their latest cover with a new  next-gen multiplayer shooter title  Evolve in development  by Turtle Rock Studios; best known for creating Left 4 Dead.

Evolve will have a format multiplayer which will get 4 players involved to face off against an opposing player controlling a single powerful monster.

“Each hunter features its own unique items and abilities, and while the monster may be outnumbered, its size and an assortment of devastating attacks make it a more than formidable foe.” Turtle Rock is said to be focussed on ensuring that Evolve is ultimately replayable with lots of variety mixed in to keep things fresh, and Game Informer’s time with the four-versus-one hunt mode left the team “with plenty to be excited about.”

The game will run on CryEngine 3 and it will published by 2K. (Originally was published by THQ) GameInformer also revealed some new details about the game and the PS4 game cover which you can find down below.

  • 2K paid 10.8 million dollars to acquire the IP during the THQ auction.
  • Over the course of a match, the monster gets considerably more powerful… so the 4 vs 1 format is not unbalanced at all.
  • As you can tell by the cover, there are various hunter classes with different abilities.
  • GameInformer will have a 12 page article with shots and impressions from their exclusive hands-on time with the game
