Details of the newest Marvel movie have remained relatively sparse, so the prospect is something that has been more than welcomed by fans.
Fans started to spot Captain Marvel Easter eggs in Avengers: Infinity War, with many speculating that the cloth around Cull Obsidian’s waist may have belonged to her, due to the matching colour scheme.

Though the more obvious nod towards Captain Marvel came after the end credits (typical), when Nick Fury hurriedly pages a mystery person before succumbing to Thanos’ Infinity Snap. We then see Captain Marvel’s insignia on the pager screen.

Set in the 1990s, way before Infinity War, the upcoming movie will follow Carol Danvers, featuring the Skrull as villains and shapeshifting aliens.
As for Danvers’ superpowers, she is able to fly, project and absorb energy and obviously possesses superhuman strength, speed and durability.
Speaking to IGN about Captain Marvel in 2016, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige promised: “What is one of the coolest things about it is she will be by far the most powerful character we’ve ever introduced in the movie.”
And now we’re finally going to get our first real glimpse at the new hero, check back around 5pm for the trailer.
