If you haven’t yet given Call Of Duty‘s take on the battle royale genre a try then now might be your chance, because its infamous Blackout mode is going free to play.
Sharing the news on its official Twitter, Call Of Duty confirmed the week-long free trial saying: “Bring your friends — the Blackout Free Trial is coming.

“Play #BlackOps4’s Blackout Battle Royale for free from January 17th to the 24th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.”

Although free is the best price, the news hasn’t impressed everyone.
Any game going free to play is a hot topic right now. There’s been a few games that have announced they’re going to be completely free recently, and it’s left those who’ve paid for the game feeling pretty peeved…

In the case of COD though, it’s a week’s free trial and not a permanent change. Although, that hasn’t stopped people bringing in the debate.
I hope Blackout goes free and stays that way. And I was one of the people that purchased the PS4 premium edition on launch day. Free to play will make it more competitive with Fortnite and it will only help the game I love to play and the community.

I dont mean the full game but blackout being free, as it’s pretty much set up for it. It’s a trial to see how many people would download if free and if enough they would try and find a way to monetize it and make black out free so they didn “screw”who bought the full game
