SCEE Blog Manager Fred Dutton has announced on the European PS blog that around 8 lac gameplay broadcasts and over 7.1 million viewing sessions have been registered through Twitch and Ustream. The final number adds up to a staggering 20 million minutes of live gameplay streamed via PS4 units, worldwide.
Some more interesting stats:
- According to Ustream, each broadcast lasts for an average of 31 minutes
- Twitch reports that 10% of all content broadcast via its platform since 15th November has come from PS4 systems
- PS4′s Share Menu has been accessed 10.9 million times since launch
President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios gave an overwhelming response, saying, “PlayStation 4 is specifically designed so people can share their gaming experiences and interest in streaming live gameplay has surpassed our wildest expectations. We’re very excited to see gamers embrace live streaming from their PS4 system and we look forward to seeing how PlayStation gamers advance social gaming in the coming years.”
