Microsoft Purchases Mojang For $2.5 Billion

Microsoft purchases Mojang for a staggering $2.5 billion. With the purchase comes Minecraft, but will this mean that Minecraft will be off the tables for other platforms besides Microsoft’s consoles?

While Microsoft has purchased Mojang, the company will continue to support Minecraft on the current platforms the game is already available on. Currently, Minecraft is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

There is no word on what will come of the projects Mojang was currently in development with. What was already announced in production was Scrolls and Cobalt. We do know that Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh and Notch has left the company.
