Naughty Dog Developers Talk Gameplay Experience With The Last of Us: Remastered


With The Last of Us: Remastered for PS4 in its final stage to ship out, the development team is now experiencing the game in a glorious 1080p with 60 frames per second. We have some very insightful details from the developers themselves as they express how the looks and feels like with a full 60 FPS.

Anthony Newman, melee combat designer, finally got to played the game in 60 FPS, he said the game looks weird but feels amazing once you can get the hang of it.

“ok so TLOU at 60fps is a little weird at first, but once you’re used to it it feels *amazing*. Double dip is worth!”

Also one of Uncharted 4 lead game designer’s tested out The Last of Us: Remastered, he called it “Transformative”:

“Played some #TLOU at 60 fps tonight for the first time (60fps cutscenes and all). Transformative. I’m a believer. Don’t think I can go back.”

Lastly Neilan Naicker, dynamics artist, said the following:

“That’s been my experience playing the multiplayer, I can’t imagine playing it any other way now.”

Members like Anthony Vaccaro, 3D environment artist at Naughty Dog who prefer 30 FPS for a singleplayer portion and 60 FPS for multiplayer. He Think that the game feels more cinematic that way.

The Last of Us: Remastered is scheduled to launch on July 29 for Playstation 4.
