The Last of Us Dark Tone Won’t Bleed Into Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us was an incredible hit, so much so that the game was remastered and ported onto the most current Sony generation console, the PlayStation 4. But when it comes to the dark gritty theme and tone that The Last of Us dwells in, gamers shouldn’t be expecting the same feel within Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Eurogamer interviewed Naughty Dog co-president, Evan Wells. During the interview, Eurogamer asked if the development and tone for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End would be inspired from The Last of Us. The short answer to the matter is no.

Evan Wells told Eurogamer that Naughty Dog won’t be taking on the same dark depressing pathway that The Last of Us follows in their future video games. Instead, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has its own feel like its very own series.

Furthermore, Evan Wells did mention that when developers look back on The Last of Us, the will take on some things from the development in terms of a technical standpoint. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was first revealed during this year’s E3 expo. The game will be stand-alone title so gamers won’t have to worry about playing past Uncharted titles in-order to get this one.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be releasing on the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2015.
