Avalanche Studios is working on two PS4 games. The two titles are detailed in the LinkedIn profile of Avalanche Studios’ co-founder and CEO, Christofer Sundberg.
According to the CV, the first title is an “open-world action game” based on “a well-known movie license” and will be released in April 2014 on current consoles, next-generation consoles, and the PC.
The Just Cause developer has previously been rumored to be working on an open-world game based on the upcoming movie Mad Max: Fury Road. The CV notes, however, that the game “stands on its own”.
The Mad Max: Fury Road film, starring British actor Tom Hardy as Mad Max, is planned for a 2014 release.
The second game in development at Avalanche, according to the CV, is a “new installment in a very well-known game series”, more specifically a “sandbox action game” to be published by Square Enix.
Most likely, the title is Just Cause 3, which according to the CV, will be out June 2015 on next-generation consoles.
The Swedish studio appeared to have switched its focus to next-generation development late last year after Sundberg posted a photo online of its PS3 and Xbox 360 dev kits, saying: “We’re shipping ’em back. Going next-gen on your asses.”
