By now, I’m sure you’ve all seen the trailer for Grand Theft Auto V and probably have a ton of questions about the game. Well, today Rockstar has come out with some solid information about GTA V. For starters, Grand Theft Auto V will be set entirely in Los Santos and the “surrounding hills, countryside, and beaches.” Los Santos is Rockstar’s version of Los Angeles, first seen in GTA: San Andreas, but the two other cities from that game, San Fierro and Las Venturas, are not mentioned as being included. San Fierro is Rockstar’s version of San Francisco while Las Venturas is the studio’s take on Las Vegas. GTA V focuses on “the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.” GTA V is a new direction for open-world games and the freedom present in them, plus the game will have online multiplayer. Rockstar did not elaborate any further on what we can expect in GTA V, but I know we will be seeing a heap of rumors for months to come.
Though is is not 100% confirmed it has been rumored multiple times that the game will be released in March 2013, and this is believed because
Take-Two is targeting $1 billion in revenues for fiscal year 2012, and that’s simply not possible considering Max Payne 3 did not sell all that well and the only way they can hit that target is by releasing GTA 5 early, which is expected to sell 20 million copies which results in a $1 billion revenue.
