Youtuber fatally shoots boyfriend in “Prank Gone Wrong”

A Minnesota woman has been charged with second-degree manslaughter after she shot her boyfriend.

Monalisa Perez, shot Pedro Ruiz dead while attempting to make a social media stunt. The couple wanted to increase their following online so they decided “to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever” according to her.

At the time of the incident, their three-year-old child and 30 other viewers witnessed the shooting.

Ruiz was holding a book upon his chest while Perez used a .50-calibre Desert Eagle handgun to see if the bullet would go through.

She is now booked into county jail and faces her first court appearance next week.

The victim’s aunt, Claudia Ruiz was aware of the creation of this video. “He had told me about that idea and I said, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Why are you going to use a gun? Why?'” told WDAY-TV
“They were in love, they loved each other,” she said. “It was just a prank gone wrong.”

“Everyone was crying. I was standing behind that tree over there. And that was it. I just couldn’t take it anymore so I had to go back home,” neighbor Wayne Cameron told WDAY-TV.

Moreover, police have captured two cameras which were involved in the recording of the fatal video.The gunshot was fired from about one foot (30cm) away.
The 19-year-old teen, Perez who is also pregnant, claims that it was her boyfriend’s idea.

The couple had started their Youtube channel earlier this year in March and in a recent video, Ruiz mentioned the dream of becoming big YouTubers.
