Once purchased, digital games loses it residual value. This concept can soon change as a recent Xbox survey asked the users if they would be interested in selling back their digital games for 10 percent store credit.
Recently, an image surfaced on Reddit asking, “If the console digital games store for the console you owned offered customers the option to “sell back” their digital games to the store for 10% of the purchase price in store credit, would you be interested in such an offer?”
If it happens, this will definitely give some those digital titles some value. 10 percent might sound a little meager but it is definitely better than nothing.
However, other game trading shops or websites are providing more in return than what Microsoft is planning to offer. GameStop is currently paying almost 50 percent of the purchase price in some selected titles.
The idea seems good and a slight increase in the percentage would make it even better. Moreover, this is just a survey and this idea might or might not see the day of the light. If it does, the sale of digital titles will definitely take an upward curve.
