Ubisoft Quebec gets $28 million investment to manage AAA next-gen production games


Ubisoft has decided to strengthen its Quebec City wing by announcing plans to invest $28 million and creating 100 new job opportunites in next three years.

In North America, Ubisoft has three studios which includes Ubisoft Quebec which has worked on a bunch of AAA titles for Ubisoft like Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations for PS3.

Yves Gullemot, co founder and CEO of Ubisoft voiced his reliance in the workings of Quebec studio and said, “Our Quebec City studio has demonstrated its ability to manage large-scale projects and it is a natural progression to entrust the team with the production of AAA next-gen games.”

This announcement does bring clarity of thought that Ubisoft Quebec will undertake and contribute far more in next-gen projects. Besides this, Quebec Government will contribute $510,000 which will help in local job offerings and more man-power to the current employees which counts upto 320. Prime Minister of Quebec Pauline Marois said, “We are proud to accompany Ubisoft in its growth in Quebec. Interactive entertainment is an important vector for the economy in the Quebec City region, and helps to promote Quebec’s savoir-faire on an international level.”

A string of AAA titles which are in Ubisoft’s agenda are Watch Dogs, South Park: Stick of Truth, Child of Light, The Crew and Tom Clancy’s The Division. Which of these or otherwise project, is  Ubisoft Quebec working on is still not revealed yet. We’ll keep you posted with more news.
