BioShock: The Collection was finally announced yesterday after a lot of anticipation and leaks. The developers of the game, 2K Games, also had some good news for the owners of BioShock and BioShock 2 on Steam. They posted on the Steam page of the franchise to announce a free upgrade for both the titles on PC.

The post reads, “Working with Blind Squirrel Games, we’ve remastered BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite making them look better than ever.”

“If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and or Minerva’s Den on Steam, you will be able to upgrade to the remastered version of the respective title(s) for free after release,” they added.

Another BioShock title, BioShock: Infinite, hasn’t been remastered because they already comply with the current gen console standards.

If you are a PC user and don’t own either of BioShock and BioShock 2, you have the opportunity to buy them at the discounted price of $3.99 each and get an HD upgrade when BioShock: The Collection releases later this year.
