The result of Ash Ketchum’s toughest Pokemon League battle is out

The Pokemon animated series is now in its nineteenth season, rivaling shows like The Simpsons in its longevity. But in the latest episode of Pokemon XYZ, he was really up against one of his toughest battles yet.

Ash was due to face his opponent, Alain, for the Kalos League Championship. Ash had been getting better every episode, so it looked like he would be in good shape to win the battle. After all, this victory would have meant a lot for any player. It would win them an official Pokemon League. But, in the world of Pokemon, nothing is ever that easy.

Things didn’t go down as planned. A Twitter user, @MOROMOR02475447, posted a clip of the battle and the result. Check it out:

It was an explosive contest but ultimately, Ash didn’t win. He was beaten by Alain. But, Ash seemed in good spirits after the loss, ready for another adventure, after another hard fought battle.

Maybe it’s just good experience for Ash. But maybe he choked again on the prospect of better glory as the champion of a Pokemon League. Who knows. Will Ash ever become the champion, and become better than the rest?

How well of an example to kids watching Pokemon is this really? Does it show that it’s okay to lose and dust yourself off after failure, or is it damning to self-confidence and should the show inspire confidence in winning instead? Let us know what you think.
