The 8 Best Musical Moments in Video Gaming History

3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker – Everything/ The Great Sea

If it’s Zelda, it’s good. And it’s got good music. The Wind Waker is no exception to this rule, and to be honest, it’s definitely the best of Zelda so far when it comes to soundtracks, in my opinion. It’s hard to pinpoint a specific moment within The Wind Waker, too. Let’s just stick with “everything.”

If you really do insist on a specific moment though, I’d have to say, quite literally, windsurfing. That’s when Zelda’s music reaches it’s highest point, for me. I won’t lie; I haven’t even completed The Wind Waker. Despite that, it’s still given me an experience that no other game has since delivered. That’s why it’s on the list. And, well, like I said – if it’s Zelda, it’s good.

2. Final Fantasy X – Zanarkand/ Intro

It’s another entry from Final Fantasy, this time with Final Fantasy X’s eerily beautiful piano intro. Featuring the characters of the game as they reflect on where they are and where they’ve been, or something deep along those lines.

Really though, this is definitely one of the more beautiful scenes I’ve seen in gaming. We could only include one musical moment from the game, but you could argue this game could have two entries on this list, also including – “Hymn of the Fayth/ The Sending,”
