Square Enix has just announced a new studio opening that will be strictly focusing on the RPG’s. Looks like Square Enix will be going back to their roots and delivering new RPG IPs.
For the past few years it seems that Square Enix has been a bit stale. We see several Final Fantasy games and Kingdom Heart’s titles released but when it comes to trying something new, it was a bit scarce for the development team to work on something.
Not too long ago, Square Enix talked about going back to their roots and focusing on RPG games that core fans would enjoy playing. Now fast forward a few months and it seems that Square Enix is holding true to that statement.
Thanks to their critically acclaimed Bravely Default video game that was for core JRPG fans, Square Enix realized that they could prosper more focusing on games that they enjoyed playing instead of making games that would please the western audiences.
The studio doesn’t have a name attached to it yet but Square Enix is taking several applications for key positions.
