After several incidents of Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s spontaneously combusting and overheating, Samsung recalled all sold units of the smartphone. Since then, the phone has been one of the most notoriously discussed technologies on the internet.

Some hilarious person even made a mod which added Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to Grand Theft Auto V as a grenade.

However, this joke was not received well by Samsung. They even took down a very popular video of the mod via copyright claim. The video was taken down by Samsung Electronics America, Inc and its affiliates, whereas the other videos of the mod are currently available.

The action taken by Samsung on the video was not appreciated by the owner of the Modded Games channel sdaddy 345 at all.

The video was removed when it was at its peak and his channel was gaining some traction. He mentioned on a Reddit thread about the situation that he even filed a counter-claim against Samsung on this.

He wrote, “Pretty bummed out that Samsung copyright take downed a video that I made 100%… No logo, image or even the word ‘Samsung’ was uttered/shown in the video. It was pretty much the same thing as this video, which is just a gta 5 player throwing the phone at cars and blowing them up.”

It will now be interesting to see if sdaddy 345’s counter-claim helps or if Samsung goes after other videos of the mod as a result of his protest.
