SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida announced on Twitter a new feature for the PlayStation 4. Any purchases made on the PlayStation Network remotely by a smartphone will automatically be downloaded by a sleeping PS4. The PS4 will then go back into power-save mode when done.
“When you buy a PS4 game on smartphone it will wake you PS4 up to start downloading the game. PS4 goes back to sleep after that,” read the tweet.
The PlayStation 3 has allowed remote purchases of network content via that web and from a smartphone via a mobile browser, but hasn’t offered this level of convenience of your system downloading the content for you.
