It has been finally confirmed that the Pokemon games will be coming to Nintendo’s newest console NX. There has been a lot rumors regarding this until Pokemon Company’s executive Tsunekazu Ishihara confirmed it today.
During an interview with Wall Street Journal, Ishihara mentioned about the companies interest in developing games for Nintendo NX. He, however didn’t reveal whether there would be a new Pokemon title available for the new console which is scheduled to launch in March next year.
“The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device,” Ishihara said. “We will make games for the NX.”
On the other hand, British publication MCV reported that Game Freak will be the developer of the new Pokemon game. Game Freak is the same studio which developed the original handheld titles. The studio is currently working on Pokemon’s next handheld title Pokemon Sun and Moon, which will release on November 18.
We haven’t received much information about the Nintendo’s upcoming console NX, but some sources closer to the Wall Street Journal revealed that the console will work both as hand-held device and a home console. The console is also rumored to have gesture control feature and will use cartridges instead of discs.
