A New Mega Man Cartoon May Still Be on the Way for Its 30th Anniversary

It’s been a while since the States got anything new that’s Mega Man related. Street Fighter X Mega Man came out back in 2012 and Mega Man Star Force the television series ended in 2007. But those with a hankering for new Mega Man may finally be in luck.

Dentsu USA and Man of Action Entertainment, who’s known for Ben 10 and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, are reportedly creating a new Mega Man television series set to debut in 2017. The series would mark the 30th anniversary of the original Mega Man‘s video game debut.

Capcom announced that a new Mega Man series was in the works last year, but the involved parties have remained mum since then. However, Dentsu USA updated its page with scant details about the series, which hints that its still coming.

“DEUSA is targeting a 2017 launch of the new series to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the MegaMan franchise,” the web page said.

The only American Mega Man series debuted back in 1994 and lasted two season. Anime series MegaMan NT Warrior and Mega Man Star Force were imported to the States and ran on Kids’ WB and Toonami’s steaming service.
