Humans being are nostalgic. As gamers, it’s fun to go back and play older games that we spent countless hours on. That’s what is great about video game reboots and remasters; it allows us to play something we once cherished, without having to dig out older consoles and hunt down a game cartridge or disc.
Destroy All Humans! first came out 11 years ago (you can see all the glory in the original trailer above), and fans have been asking questions regarding a possible comeback of the series for a while now. Nordic Games replied to a tweet months ago regarding the status of the game, hinting at what the future of the series might entail.
Here we are, nearly a year later, and another tweet has surfaced regarding the game’s possible resurrection. Reinhard Pollice, product development director and executive producer at Nordic Games, replied to a fan’s tweet about the future of Destroy All Humans! It looks like things are being discussed and fans might be able to enjoy the game on current gen consoles in the future.
Even though things are very vague at this point, it’s still a step in the right direction for fans of the game. There are still a ton of questions that need answers: Will there be a brand new game involving Crypto? Is Nordic Games only interested in a reboot of the original series? Will there be a collection of the old games for us to play? Nordic Games did remaster Darksiders II last year, and it looks like a remastered Darksiders III is also in the works, so a remastered Destroy All Humans! does not seem like a stretch in the least.
Until we hear official word of the game series that played homage to B-List science fiction movies of the past, everything is just speculation. Hopefully there will be more revealing Twitter posts, and maybe an official announcement about Destroy All Humans! soon.
