Microsoft Receives Record Breaking Low Sales in Japan

Microsoft recently launched the Xbox One in Japan and if you were wondering how well the company sales stacked against PlayStation or even Nintendo then you may be shocked at the results.

Japan finally received the Microsoft Xbox One console though it seems that the system isn’t holding up much weight for gamers within the country. Reported through Kotaku, Microsoft’s Xbox One only managed to sell a whopping 23,562 consoles within the first two days of being available on market.

Let’s compare Microsoft’s Xbox One launch compared to Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Nintendo’s Wii U. Sony’s launch managed to sell 322,083 units while Nintendo’s own launch has sold 308,570 units after just two days.

Apparently, Microsoft’s launch was so poor that it was the lowest launch for video game consoles within Japan in the past 15 years.
