The existing licensing agreement with FIFA has been extended by EA upto December 31, 2022.
EA retains the exclusive branding rights for all FIFA action and management games. Andrew Wilson, EA Sports head, said in a statement,”EA Sports released the first FIFA-branded soccer game in 1993, and 20 years later our partnership with FIFA continues to be very strong. Our franchise has become the benchmark for quality and innovation in the sports video game genre, and we look forward to many more years of connecting with consumers around the world with our games carrying the prestigious FIFA name.”

FIFA 13 sales topped 14.5 million units during the last financial year and about about 65 million games of FIFA are played weekly, as claimed by EA. With these impressive statistics bolstering their credibility, EA officially announced FIFA 14 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC last month. Also, an announcement has been made which states that there would be more additional formats which had been lined up to be revealed in the coming months.
No official release date has been announced for FIFA 14, but it has been rumored to be released in the month of October.
