According to TV and movie composer Cliff Martinez, Far Cry 4 is already underway. He dropped this little tidbit at the end of an interview at Lost in the Multiplex.
He said he was working on “a video game called Far Cry 4,” along with a new Steven Soderbergh TV series. They way he delivered the news reminds me of all those rock bands who would just mention it in interview with rock magazines that their songs would be in the next Guitar Hero or Rock Band. The silence standards of the industry don’t seem to apply outside of the industry. Needless to say Ubisoft hasn’t announced Far Cry 4 yet, but it’s one of those titles that of course is getting a sequel.
Martinez has quite an extensive list of works. He worked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as composed scores for movies Drive, Only God Forgives, Contagion, Solaris, Traffic and more. On the video game front he composed tracks for Spore back in 2008.
